Hello! I’m Jim Palmer, a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of experience in helping individuals achieve mental wellness. I’ve honed my abilities in both crisis intervention and therapeutic communication, allowing me to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages.

I specialize in creating personalized, evidence-based treatment plans, managing complex medication regimens, and leading interdisciplinary teams to enhance mental health outcomes. My focus is always on ensuring accurate diagnoses and effective treatments.

 I handle outpatient care, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment for patients to feel safe and cared for. Through seamless collaboration with healthcare professionals, I strive to improve the lives of those experiencing mental health challenges.

Apart from my professional roles, I’m also a proud member of the American Nurses Association, among others. I am committed to promoting trust, healing, and long-term mental wellness for each and every one of my patients. We offer a range of services, including psychiatric evaluations and specialized treatment for conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and more. 

We offer both telemedicine appointments and in-office visits if you prefer. Our office is located at 70 E. Sunrise Hwy, Valley Stream, NY 11581. Please consult directly with Jim for any additional questions about evaluations or follow-up appointments.

In most cases, you do not need a referral to schedule an appointment with us. However, some insurance providers may require a referral from your primary care physician. We recommend checking with your insurance company or contacting our office for guidance.

Your first appointment will involve a thorough assessment of your mental and physical health. The psychiatrist will discuss your medical history, symptoms, and concerns. This session helps us create a personalized treatment plan that may include therapy, medication, or a combination of both.

Yes, we accept most major insurance plans. Please provide your insurance information when scheduling your appointment so we can verify coverage. For those without insurance, we also offer flexible payment options. Our billing department can help clarify any questions about payment or insurance claims.
